Intrusive is an optional boss conceptualized and developed for the corru.observer project over the course of 7 months. Throughout development, I continually experimented with new tools.
In the beginning, Intrusive was a joke. In early July of 2023, an update to the corru.observer project was slated to be released. I produced the original concept for Intrusive in the day before the update's release. He was intended to fool people. He did so much more.

It is now August of 2023. I am in the middle of playing a game with some friends. I recieve a message.
Intrusive is now real. Fevered with ambition, I grab my metaphorical tools and start hammering away.
Work on Intrusive began immediately after I recieved the message. I had a clear vision for him, and I used Blender to achieve this. Intrusive and his minions are actually animated in 3d and rendered down into 2D. A special shader is used to darken the legs as they move into the background (It's a bit fickle.)

All of the characters I created for this project are below. You can scroll horizontally.
Intrusive. Uses IK for the legs and Bone Dynamics.
The first Intrusivelet made. Did not make the cut for the actual game, and is therefore undithered. Uses leg IK and Bone Dynamics (pro)
The second Intrusivelet made. The one I had the hardest time animating. Uses Bone Dynamics exclusively.
The third Intrusivelet made. Uses relatively simple animation compared to the others.
The fourth Intrusivelet made. Animation was originally far more complex, but due to time constraints was simplified.
The second to last Intrusivelet. I used AI to reinterpret the chest bit, and then I painted over it. Otherwise unremarkable
The last Intrusivelet made. Uses IK and Bone Dynamics. I'm a little mad that the right leg dissapears into darkness.
I also made a pictographic font for Intrusive's Dialogue. For the fans: I'm not giving away the meanings: You'll have to figure those out yourself.
I was asked to make Intrusive themed fish for an April Fools update. They are shown below.
